about
‘Breeze’ started off as the our attempt to write something with the poetic potency of Bill Callahan and David Berman, however, over time it evolved into something more psych rock-esque, especially at the song’s climax. The song’s lyrics are about both the mind’s penchant for overthinking, and the processing of the death of a friend during the lockdown period.
lyrics
Am I doing this for the right reasons?
Or am I tricking myself into believing
That everything is fine and dandy
And doing this
Won't come at a cost?
Breeze, followed by a storm, something's got to be wrong.
That summer this melody
Crept through your walls
Endlessly
I didn't know what space you were in
Or what was to come
Breeze, followed by a storm, something's got to be wrong.
Where have you gone?
No-one talks about you anymore
Your room just an empty husk
What am I supposed to do with that?
